Optus Chief Executive, Chris Anderson, confirmed today that Adrian Chamberlain, Managing Director of Optus's Consumer & Multimedia business, will return to the UK in December under his Cable & Wireless contract.

Mr Chamberlain, a Cable & Wireless plc employee, will become Director of Strategy and Corporate Development at C&W in London.

"Under Adrian's leadership, the business delivered on its promise to reach break-even at the end of the 2000/2001 financial year and succeeded in taking revenue through the $1 billion mark," Mr Anderson said.

"In addition, Adrian and his team have introduced a technical trial of Optus iTV - Australia's first trial of interactive services over cable," he said.

Mr Anderson said that a successor to Mr Chamberlain would be named in the next few weeks.
