Optus is launching 'yes Optimiser', a suite of innovative consumer post-paid mobile phone plans.
For the first time in Australia it will be possible to reduce the length of a mobile phone contract with a feature called 'Rollback'.
Optimiser combines several new features to ensure customers get the most from their mobile phone plan:
- Rollback - People who make more calls than those included in their plan can reduce the length of a 24 month contract;
- Rollover - Customers who make less calls than those included in their plan will be able to roll over any unused credits so they have up to three months in which to use them;
- Planscan - a periodic check of average usage that lets customers know if they would be better off switching to another Optimiser Plan;
- 30 for 10 - a choice of four options including '30 for 10 day' where customers can call any fixed land line phone within Australia for just 30 cents for 10 minutes and '30 for 10 weekend' where they can call any phone within Australia from Midnight on Friday night to Midnight on Sunday night for 30 cents for 10 minutes. In addition to 30 for 10 day and weekend Optus continues to offer '30 for 10 at night' and Optus 'yes' time.
Paul Kitchin, Director Mobile Marketing, said Optimiser was about offering features that put flexibility back into post-paid plans.
"When Optus introduced 'yes' time in 1998 it quickly became a benchmark and set a standard that others followed. Optimiser pushes the boundaries a little further by enabling our customers to choose how much they want to spend and the calling offer that suits when they use their phone.
"With 30 for 10 and the Rollback and Rollover features plus competitive call rates, Optimiser offers choice so that our customers are not stuck in a plan that doesn't suit their needs.
"Even customers with their own handset benefit by receiving more included calls each month as a bonus," said Paul Kitchin.
A national advertising campaign launches on 3 August to promote Optimiser.
