Optus today announced enhanced levels of mobile coverage along the Pacific Highway at Cairncross, Port Macquarie.
Cairncross is one of the eleven new mobile sites and facilities to be installed along with thirteen upgrades as part of Optus’ five million dollar investment into improving and extending network capacity across Australia.
Allen Lew, Managing Director Optus Mobile said, "The new mobile site in Cairncross aligns with our goal to enhance and extend GSM coverage along important roadways.
"The remaining new mobile sites and upgrades will be rolled out progressively over coming months," he said.
Local Optus dealer, Mark Atack from Optus World Port Macquarie, said "Optus users travelling north from Port Macquarie will benefit greatly from the installation with greater network service.
"Optus continues to improve competition in regional areas and has further plans for new sites at Laurieton, Kew and Port Macquarie West."
This coverage expansion is part of the Optus strategy to provide the largest number of GSM base sites on the east coast of Australia.
