Optus announced today its new broadband plans specifically designed for small to medium businesses (SMB), with fast download speeds and high data limits.

Stuart Tucker, Optus Director SMB Marketing, said research by Optus highlighted how business customers wanted plans that were easier to understand and were ultimately better for their business.

"Optus customers are demanding simple internet services that improve their business processes and offer superior speed and download limits," Mr Tucker said.

"We have taken this feedback on board and now our Optus DSL broadband customers will have the choice of four plans with a minimum of 512kbps download speed.

"Our Executive plans offer customers 1.5Mbps download speeds - so businesses will be able to choose a broadband plan best suited to their business needs."

The new Optus SMB broadband plans have been divided into four unique offers:

The broadband plans provide a special offer for small and medium business customers. They will receive bonus broadband features such as more data, larger mailbox (100MB), 20MB free web space and 10 free hours of backup dial-up.

Optus has also expanded its daily off-peak broadband times from midnight to midday. And when business customers bundle their broadband with another Optus SMB product they will receive extra benefits as well as double their off-peak download limit.

"We are tailoring our products so they specifically address the needs of SMBs – we have identified all the components that SMBs find valuable and have incorporated them into one package," Mr Tucker said.

"Our new plans are a clear demonstration of how we are committed to offering competitive monthly business rates, faster download speeds and fantastic value on data."
