Optus Business Managing Director, John Simon, confirmed today the appointment of Noel Hamill to Director Marketing & Strategy for Optus Business.
Effective immediately, Mr Hamill will add the marketing and product portfolios to his current Optus Business strategy responsibilities.
Mr Hamill has been with Optus for eight years and has been leading Optus Business's strategy team over the last two years - driving projects such as Optus' acquisition of Uecomm, Alphawest, and the transformation and strategic review of the Optus Business division.
In his new role, Mr Hamill will be responsible for driving the go-to-market activities for Optus Business's Internet Protocol (IP) and convergence marketing initiatives, of which Optus is striving for the leadership role in the market by 2010, as well as driving growth in the ICT services with Alphawest and gaining market share in mobility with 3G and Optus Wireless Connect.
John Simon said Mr Hamill had brought with him a strong background in product design and development and strategy formulation.
"Noel has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry and I am confident that the knowledge he has will stand us in good stead going forward," Mr Simon said.
"Optus Business has taken much of the last 12 months priming itself to take on the rest of the industry in the corporate and government sector, particularly where next generation technologies such as IP are concerned.
"We are delighted that Noel will be leading this charge. We will certainly benefit from his experience, skills and enthusiasm."
Mr Hamill takes over from Paul Kitchin who has moved to the role of Managing Director, Optus Small & Medium Business (SMB).
