Optus announced today a further enhancement to its network coverage in Victoria with the installation of two new mobile facilities at Merbein and Billabong.
Warren Hardy, Managing Director Optus Consumer said, "The expansions are part of Optus' strategy to increase its network in Australia, providing the highest quality of GSM coverage.
"The new site in Merbein will increase coverage in the township and surrounding areas including the Calder Highway and Ranfurly Way towards Mildura.
"The expansion in Billabong will enhance coverage along the Calder Highway South West of Mildura.
"To date, Optus has invested more than $420 million to roll out more than 1,200 mobile base stations across Victoria, providing network coverage to 99 percent of the state's population," Mr Hardy said.
Rob Parcell, Optus Director Victoria, said "Optus has extensive coverage in Victoria. The increase in coverage facilities means that residents and business people of Merbein and Billabong now have quality mobile coverage and greater carrier choice."
