Optus offers greater value for Turbocharge Pre-Paid customers with the new $40 recharge
12 Oct 2006

Optus unveiled today a new $40 recharge on Turbocharge giving Optus Pre-Paid mobile customers up to five times more value.

Following the success of Optus' Turbocharge product launched in June 2005, the new plan is designed to deliver even greater value to Optus Pre-Paid customers.

The Turbocharge offers are:

  • $30 recharge provides four times the value with $120 credit1 (existing);
  • $40 recharge provides five times the value with $200 credit1 (new); and
  • $50 recharge provides six times the value with $300 credit1 (increased credit).

Michael Smith, Group Marketing Director Optus Consumer, said: "Turbocharge is the most popular offer with Optus Pre-Paid customers as it provides great value for those customers who use their mobile phone regularly whilst controlling their spend.

"Unlike other offers in the market, Optus Turbocharge provides a range of Pre-Paid cap plans between $30 and $50, allowing customers on all spend levels to enjoy tremendous value for money.

"Optus Pre-Paid mobile customers are in control - no bills, no long-term contracts and no monthly commitments. They simply purchase what they need to get started and then top up their Pre-Paid mobile credit when they need to," Mr Smith said.

Optus Turbocharge recharge cards and vouchers are available from more than 9,000 retail points nationally including Optus World stores, Optus Mobile Dealers, Australia Post, Coles, Woolworths, convenience stores and service stations.

Optus has also extended its services further with the launch of 3G on Optus Pre-Paid2. From the end of October 2006, Optus Pre-Paid customers will be able to upgrade or purchase the Samsung Z230 with a special launch offer of free minutes to use on video and voice calls to other Optus Pre-Paid customers on the Bigger and Better Free Calls calling offer.

On 15 October 2006, Optus will begin a national advertising campaign focusing on the theme: 'Bigger and better than ever.'

1 Increased credit: for use on voice calls, SMS, voicemail and more. Exclusions apply. Bonus credit cannot be used for premium SMS and content, Zoo content usage or international roaming charges. All credits expire within 30 days.
