Voting now open at www.one80project.com.au
Optus, MTV Networks Australia and LG Mobile Phones are excited to announce rising star Teresa Palmer as the latest judge to come on board the OPTUS ONE80PROJECT. Palmer will join Sibylla Budd, Marcus Graham, Ben Briand and Michael Selwyn (Paramount Pictures Australia's, Managing Director) as they pick the 'Judges Choice' winning entry, which will be made into a full-length drama production shown on MTV Australia. A second winner will also be chosen by a public vote via SMS and website voting (www.one80project.com.au). The Top 10 finalist's entries can be viewed on the OPTUS ONE80PROJECT website (www.one80project.com.au) and via the Optus ZOO mobile portal.
Teresa Palmer first stole the attention of fans and critics in the highly anticipated Australian film, 2:37, which screened at the 2004 Cannes International Film Festival. Since then Palmer's performances in The Grudge 2 (2006) and December Boys (2006), has catapulted her into the international spotlight. 2008 has been a big year for Palmer, she starred in Kids In America alongside Topher Grace and Anna Faris and Boxing Day will see the Australian release date for Palmer's latest film, Bed Time Stories with Adam Sandler, Courtney Cox and fellow Aussie Guy Pearce. Teresa Palmer’s recent rise to fame through brilliantly crafted Australian and International dramas gives her the perfect qualifications to judge the 2008/2009 OPTUS ONE80PROJECT.
OPTUS ONE80PROJECT offers a chance of a lifetime to the Top 10 entrants. Entrants submitted a three minute pilot (180 seconds) with an accompanying treatment for a one hour television drama. MTV Executives then selected the top entries to be voted on by the panel of industry judges and the public. This year's Top 10 came from all around the country and the quality and diversity of ideas were exceptional.
