"As the FIFA 2010 World Cup™ Mobile Broadcaster in Australia, Optus will deliver live streaming exclusively to Optus 3G mobile customers for free via a dedicated camera which is filmed specifically for the mobile," Mr Paul O'Sullivan, Optus Chief Executive said.

"Optus customers will feel like they are match-side in South Africa watching the games live on their mobile phone while they are out and about. "As the official telecommunications partner of Football Federation Australia, we already support the football community from a grass roots level through to the Australian National Team," Mr O'Sullivan said.

"It's great for the game and the Socceroos that Optus mobile customers will be able to watch all the action live from South Africa on their 3G handsets. The World Cup™ is the pinnacle of the football calendar and by providing a platform to watch the games, more fans than ever will be able to support the Socceroos," Lucas Neill, Captain of the Socceroos and Optus Football Ambassador said.

Additionally, Optus has secured a deal with SBS where customers will have access to mobile content, complimenting SBS's comprehensive and multi-platform presentation of the road to the World Cup™ and the global event itself.
