In another move to deliver value to regional Australia, Optus launched today the U1200 handset, a low cost and feature rich device.
"We are excited to launch the Optus U1200 mobile exclusively to our customers, it has great features at a low cost and is suited to all budgets and ages in both the city and in the bush," Anthony Shiner, General Manager, Optus Country said.
"For those customers who simply want to make calls, send text messages and occasionally access the internet to view YouTube, check their email, view Google Maps or surf Optus Zoo, the U1200 is a great choice.
"As Optus increases its presence in regional Australia by expanding its mobile network to improve mobile coverage, customers will have greater options when they are purchasing a mobile phone," Mr Shiner said.
Pricing and availability
Pre-Paid mobile customers can own the phone outright for just $99 upfront and then combine it with the sensational value of a $30 Turbo Cap, which includes $300 of included value every time they recharge.
Additionally, offering customers value this Christmas, from 2 November when customers activate the new Optus U1200 on a Turbo Cap and first recharge with $30 they will receive $400 of included value - $100 more than normal. The $400 of value is made up of $30 MyCredit, $120 MyBonus, $150 Pre-Paid Messaging Money plus $100 Rev-Up Bonus.
Post-Paid customers can connect to the U1200 for $0 upfront on a $19 Cap Plan over 24 months (minimum spend $456).
The Optus U1200 will be available online for Pre-Paid customers and at Optus 'yes' shops and via Optus' channel partners.
