Taking steps to further enhance the customer experience, Optus has unveiled its new Optus shop at E Altri in Atherton.

Anthony Shiner, Optus Country General Manager, said this new retail outlet reflects Optus' direction of introducing choice and competition to previously underserved areas while delivering a superior customer experience and bringing more jobs to the community.

"In Atherton and the surrounding tablelands region, Optus already provides good coverage within the major population centres and in the new year we will enhance our coverage even further with construction beginning on a further six sites in Malanda, Millaa Millaa, Ravenshoe, Yungaburra, Longlands Gap and Mutchilba.

"As the champion of competition in Australia, Optus is placing itself as the alternative player to more of the population by expanding our mobile network to reach 98 per cent of Australians, enhancing coverage in existing areas and working with local businesses to expand our branded Optus shops.

"The Optus shop at E Altri is a premium retail distribution channel for consumers and small businesses. They sell and support Optus' full mobile product suite, including 3G mobile phones that are suited to regional areas and a huge range of great value cap plans" Mr Shiner said.
