OptusZOO Mobile TV - now available on iPhone
18 Dec 2009

Optus announced today an exciting addition to its Mobile Television line up, now available on the Apple iPhone.

Optus Mobile Television will now offer live mobile TV on iPhone handsets, featuring three new live channels - Sky News, Sky News Sport and The Music Factory (TMF). These channels are only $3 per month each, with no additional data or download cost to watch the clips.

Mark Mulder, General Manager, Optus Content and Portals said, "There is currently strong growth in people watching Mobile TV, which is in line with the significant increase in 3G handsets and Smartphones, including the popular iPhone in the market. The iPhone in particular gives a perfect mobile viewing platform due to the large screen and great audio quality.

"Optus is offering not only these exciting new channels, but customers can have their eye on the ball this summer and watch live streaming of Channel Seven's match coverage of the Australian Open 2010 on their 3G mobile including the Apple iPhone*.

"By delivering access to live broadcasts of these great news, sport and music video channels, plus Video on Demand entertainment channels directly to handsets including the iPhone, Optus customers can have a true television experience in their pocket and stay current while on the go," Mr Mulder said.

The new iPhone channels follow the August OptusZoo Mobile TV 'revamp' which included great new channels such as ABC's Summer Heights High and The Wiggles (also available on the iPhone), and new features to improve the ZOO experience with less clicks for customers to watch content, personalised 'My TV Channels' list, a new design and free channel previews.

Optus recently announced that it will be the FIFA 2010 World Cup™ Mobile Broadcaster in Australia, where it will also deliver live streaming of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ matches exclusively to Optus 3G mobile customers for free.

To access Mobile TV, on the iPhone or any other 3G handset, customers should SMS 'iTV' to 966 for iPhones and 'TV' to 966 for any other 3G handsets to be sent a link.
