Local 'yes' Optus shop owner to star in new television campaign
Local Bathurst Optus franchisee, Ross James, has been selected to star in a new national advertising campaign that recognises his investment in the local community.
Ross is donating a new boxing ring to the Bathurst PCYC, providing locals with much needed sporting facilities.
Anthony Shiner, Optus Country General Manager, said selecting Ross's donation as the focus of the commercial was an easy choice, and his investment should be commended.
"We support our franchisees and encourage community investment and we are pleased that Ross's donation means the kids of Bathurst will have access to new equipment in the PCYC," Mr Shiner said.
Matt Brealey, Bathurst PCYC Club Manager said the generous donation is an important investment in the community and will be appreciated by the locals.
"Having a new ring means we will have a designated area for boxing in the club so that the kids can participate safely and perform at their best.
"There's a fantastic community spirit in Bathurst and Ross's generosity means the PCYC can offer more options to local kids," said Mr Brealey.
Ross James, owner of the 'yes' Optus shop in Bathurst, said the donation was something he is proud of.
"The PCYC is such an important part of the local Bathurst community and I'm really pleased to be donating something that will be utilised and enjoyed," said Mr James.
The new advertising campaign, launching on Sunday January 24, will highlight the enhanced competition in telecommunications brought to rural and regional Australia by Optus - through quality network coverage and better value for residents of Bathurst and surrounds.
Note to Editor: Ross James' 'yes' Optus shop is located at Shop 23 Stocklands Shopping Centre, Howick St, Bathurst.
