The Optus Mobile Coverage Satisfaction Guarantee for GSM Mobile Services

At Optus we’re proud of our mobile network coverage, that’s why we’re happy to offer you this guarantee on your GSM mobile service. In the unlikely event that you aren’t satisfied with our coverage you can simply switch back. No questions asked. Call us on 1300 667 475 within 30 days of connection and you won’t pay any Optus cancellation fees – you only pay for what you use.

Before you contact Optus Technical Support these are several things you should do.

  • Turn the phone off and on regularly, such as weekly, to ensure optimum signal strength.
  • Try your SIM in another phone to see if the same issue occurs, if it doesn’t it could be a faulty phone.

  • Make sure you call from another phone line and have the Optus phone handy for troubleshooting

Tips to getting the most out of Technical Support troubleshooting

  • Ensure that you call from an alternative phone so that troubleshooting can be completed on your Optus number.
  • Ensure that you call from a quiet location so that full attention can be given to troubleshooting
  • Have a piece of paper and pen ready to take down any instructions
  • Additional troubleshooting information is available so you can check this before calling Technical Support again in the future.

 

* Coverage Satisfaction Guarantee (CSG): allows you to return your handset within 30 days of activation and terminate your service if the coverage in your area is not satisfactory. If you cancel under CSG you must return all equipment including the mobile phone (and gift with purchase if applicable) in full working order with original packaging (including your Optus SIM card) within 14 days of notification to avoid equipment replacement charges being applied to your account. You will be responsible for the monthly access fee and any calls/texts/data you have used. You must provide proof of purchase to receive a refund. Any unused credit on your account (other than any unused credit that relates to the upfront payment on your device) will be forfeited. Available to new customers connecting to The Optus Open Network™. Customers on Strathfield plans, corporate plans or recontracting are ineligible. Customers only eligible to take advantage of the CSG once during the promotional period. The CSG offer may expire or be withdrawn at any time.
