Cirque du Soleil

Saltimbanco - Cirque du SoleilOptus continues their support of Cirque du Soleil® as presenting sponsor of their most recent show to tour Australia, the stage spectacular Saltimbanco™.

Australian audiences were wowed by Saltimbanco which explores the urban experience in all its myriad forms where you can follow characters with a range of idiosyncrasies, feel the energy of the street in their visually baroque performances and get caught up in the whirlwind athleticism of acrobats, contortionists and clowns. Enjoy a fanciful, dreamlike world built in an imaginary city. Saltimbanco is inspired by the urban fabric of the metropolis and its colourful inhabitants. Decidedly baroque in its visual vocabulary, the show’s eclectic cast of characters draws spectators into a fanciful, dreamlike world, an imaginary city where diversity is a cause for hope.

Seen by over 9.5 million people worldwide, Saltimbanco premiered in Montreal in 1992 and spent 14 years touring as a ‘big top’ show, visiting 75 cities across 5 continents. In 2007 Saltimbanco was reconfigured to a show adapted to large venue arenas and now visits 40 cities per year.
