Making a real and positive impact has always been the key motivation for our community investments. We’re committed to building better communities with our investments and focus on assisting disengaged youth and building social inclusion. These investments help build social networks and increase participation within the community and family life, and helps leverage telecommunications capabilities to provide access to health and education services.
Our contributions range from cash, in-kind and project expenses, employee mentoring and volunteering. Employees are involved in fundraising, and we also provide opportunities for our customers to donate to worthwhile community causes.
The majority of contributions are directed towards long-term community investment activities, rather than one-off donations, with more than half geared towards supporting education and young people. This aligns with our community investment focus areas of supporting disengaged young people and building social inclusion.
Because providing sponsorship is an essential part of our business and reflects our commitment to giving back to the community, our partners are chosen only after a fair and thorough evaluation of the suitability of their proposal in line with our social responsibility commitments. This means that certain programs will not be eligible for sponsorship.
